  Membership

ORDINARY MEMBER

 

i. Ordinary Membership shall be available to event industry practitioners, managers, designers, suppliers and qualified event professionals associated with General Events and Business Events.

ii. Qualification for Ordinary Membership shall be as follows:

  1. The applicant must either be:

    • A company or firm or agency actively involved in or associated with general events or business events legally operating in Sarawak, nominating one representative at a director or senior managerial level to represent; or

    • An individual actively involved in or associated with general events or business events legally residing in Sarawak.

  2. The applicant must be actively involved in or associated with general events and / or business events continuously for a minimum of two (2) years prior to the application.

  3. Ordinary Members shall have the right to attend, speak and vote at all General Meetings.

  4. Ordinary Members are entitled to all privileges and benefits accorded by the Association including (but not limited to) preferential invitation to training courses, accreditation programmes and Association events; access to Association facilities and benefits accorded by affiliated partners.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER

 

i. Associate Membership shall be available to companies, firms, agencies and other bodies associated with general events and business events which Committee may decide to associate with, who do not qualify for Ordinary Membership.

ii. Qualification for Ordinary Membership shall be as follows:

  1. A company or firm or agency involved in or associated with general events or business events not registered in Sarawak, nominating one representative at a director or senior managerial level to represent.

  2. The applicant must demonstrate their willingness to support the objectives of the association especially the development of the general events and business events industry in Sarawak.

  3. The applicant must be involved in or associated with general events and / or business events continuously for a minimum of two (2) years prior to the application.

  4. Associate Members shall have the right to attend and speak at all General Meetings but are unable to vote or hold office in the Association.

  5. Associate Members are entitled to all privileges and benefits accorded by the Association including (but not limited to) preferential invitation to training courses, accreditation programmes and Association events; access to Association facilities and benefits accorded by affiliated partners.

  SBE OBJECTIVES


To serve as a platform for Members to share knowledge, contribute ideas, and uphold good and ethical standards of conduct and professionalism in Business Events.

To represent and make known the interest and aspirations of its Members to government, other industries, the media and the public.

To promote the development of Business Events through the  support of its orderly and sustainable growth in Sarawak.

To encourage and foster cooperation among Members  in matters of common interest.

To facilitate opportunities for Business Events learning, research,  development and advocacy among Members and to the public.

To own properties and assets for the interest of its Members.

To be affliated to and accept affliations from associations and  other bodies associated with general events and / or business  events which shall be beneficial to Members subject to reciprocal  arrangements and terms of affliation.

To do all other things deemed necessary by the Association to be  incidental or conducive to the attaintment of the Objectives  for the betterment of its members.
